Are you an authorised Apple, Samsung or Google repair centre?
No. MrFix is proudly independent. We're not tied to a manufacturer's single repair route, which means we can offer different repair and parts options where available. We explain the choices clearly, and you decide what works best for your device and budget.
What does being an independent repair specialist mean?
It gives us more flexibility in how we approach a repair. We can assess older devices, unusual faults and repairs that may not fit a manufacturer's standard service route. Our job is to find a sensible solution rather than automatically replace more than necessary.
Do you use genuine parts?
It depends on the device and repair. Where available, we can explain genuine manufacturer options alongside our other choices. For selected repairs we also offer MrFix Premium and Value Edition parts. You'll know what is being fitted, what it costs and what warranty applies before we begin.
Will my photos and data be safe?
Routine hardware repairs normally don't require access to your personal content. If access is genuinely required for diagnosis or testing, we'll explain this first. We recommend backing up important data before any repair whenever possible.
What warranty will I get?
Warranty depends on the repair and part selected. MrFix Premium generally includes 12 months, while Value Edition generally includes 3 months. The applicable warranty is shown before you approve the repair. Accidental damage, liquid damage and applicable exclusions aren't covered.
Can you repair problems an authorised service centre may not take on?
We can assess far more than cracked screens. Charging faults, cameras, back glass, power problems, liquid damage and board-level faults on older devices can all be assessed by our technicians. If we don't believe a repair makes financial sense, we'll tell you.
Do I need to book or can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome for most repairs. Bring your device into MrFix and we'll assess it. Our large parts inventory helps us complete many common repairs the same day, with some completed in around an hour, subject to the model, repair, stock and workload.
How long does a MacBook screen or battery repair take?
Many common MacBook screen and battery repairs can be completed the same day when the required part is available. For less common models or more complicated faults, we'll give you a realistic turnaround before proceeding.
How much does phone repair cost in Edinburgh?
Prices depend on your device and model, but most common repairs are affordable and fixed while you wait. For example, an iPhone screen repair starts from £129 and an iPhone battery replacement from £79, with Samsung screen repairs also from £129.
